If you are like me, you just can’t stop raving Firefox - the wonderful browser that it is. I have been using Firefox for about 4 years now..and it’s only grown from strength to strength. The best part about Firefox like any other Open Sourse product is it’s plugins. They allow you to add so many functionalities that Internet Explorer can only dream of having.
Here I list my top 5 extensions or addons for Firefox 2.0. Addons that I can’t live without. To be honest there are so many of them out there, but these I use everyday or almost -
- Google Toolbar for Firefox - Adds loads of functionality to the Forefox toolbar like the Google search bar, shortcuts to gmail, google maps, google desktop and much more.
- Get Directions from Google Maps - I recently discovered this one, when I for the nth time felt the need to look up directions for a given address by higlighting it. This extension lets you look up the directions by right clicking a highlighted addess and then selecting “Locate on Google Map”.
- Stack Style Tabs - Brings the CTRL+Tab window switching functionality we all are so used to in Windows to Firefiox Tabs. You press ALT+Tab to switch tabs in a Firefox window. Just like Windows, the open tabs are listed when you keep ALT+Tab pressed.
